INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – The ACLU of Indiana is suing the Indiana Department of Correction over a law banning gender-affirming surgeries for inmates.
They say the state’s prison officials have denied the procedure to a transgender woman who is behind bars.
The law was approved this year and signed by Governor Holcomb. The ACLU says denying people necessary treatment is discrimination.
