CAMP ATTERBURY, Ind. (ADAMS) – There are just 15 Afghan refugees remaining at Camp Atterbury, and they should be gone by the end of the week.
On Monday, Indiana National Guard commanders said they are wrapping up their efforts at Camp Atterbury.
At the peak, Indiana hosted 7,000 refugees from Afghanistan.
They have all moved to new homes in Indiana or across the country. Adjutant General R. Dale Lyle said the guard and other military team members responded within days to the needs of the refugees. He says he’s proud of the troops and their effort at Camp Atterbury.
